“…tonight is about gathering momentum for the future and the way forward and getting more people to be a part of that journey…”
It was a night of celebration and inspiration as Legacy Foundation honoured a decade of transformative community work. Legacy Foundation, an education-focused, volunteer-driven organization that seeks to empower youth in South Africa and enable them to be effective in their careers and personal lives as adults, marked this milestone with a Gala Dinner held at Church Alive in Northcliff, Johannesburg, on the 06th of September 2025.
The milestone event gathered community leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives, and faith-based communities to celebrate ten years of purpose-driven impact. The evening was filled with so much inspiration, celebration, and vision for the future.

Stephanie Sparks, who has served as the Foundation’s Chairperson for the past five years, made a reflection on the organisation’s journey and long-standing commitment to uplifting communities.
In a brief interview with SA Positive News, Sparks shared: “We’re celebrating 10 years and everything that we have achieved in the past 10 years, but even more important is that tonight is about fundraising, it is about gathering momentum for the future and the way forward and getting more people to be a part of that journey, encouraging more people to be partners with us, specifically, South African business and corporates who are excited to make change, excited to be a part of growing our country’s economy and education. So, it just symbolises all of that and reflecting in the past and looking forward to the future.”

Guest speaker Shanei Born, an international bestselling author and dynamic speaker known for her motivational work and global advocacy left an impression, urging people to walk in their worth and in their purpose and to lead with conviction and build legacies that outlive them, as she helps people to design their life around their purpose. Born believes that human beings need to be in alignment with their assignments.
Musical performances by acclaimed gospel artists such as Pascale Yav, Ndo Dlakadla, and Saxophonist, Sintu Ndzube, added a spiritual and celebratory tone to the evening, uniting everyone through powerful praise and worship moments.

The programme also featured presentations from notable businesses aligned with the Foundation’s mission, including Untold SA, an NPO that focuses on the upliftment and advancement of the lives of people living with HIV, encouraging them to live beyond their status, Murunwa Communications, a strategic PR and marketing agency as well as Webterra, a company operating in the digital/web solutions space.
As Legacy Foundation steps into its second decade, the gala served as both a celebration and a call to action, reminding South Africans of the enduring power of unity, service, and visionary leadership.
