The world’s most prestigious breakdancing competition, Red Bull BCOne returns with the national finals taking place on Sunday, 22 March2020 at District in Cape Town. South Africa’s best B-Boys and B-Girlswill be competing for their spots at the Red Bull BC One final takingplace in November in Poland. Hosted by Mel Rock, this year’s installment of the competition bringsyou the biggest face-off battle as 20 local B-Boys and B-Girls competefor the 2020 national title. The 10 B-Boy wildcards showing their movesin the national final will be B-Boy Benny, B-Boy Man Like B, B-BoyToufeeq, B-Boy Meaty, B-Boy Shorty Blitz, B-Boy Charlton, B-Boy Kayzo,B-Boy Rhythm, B-Boy LyanKing, and B-Boy Kashief. The B-Girl final willbe taking place on the same day with the following B-Girls wildcardsgoing head-to-head: B-Girl Mids and B-Girl Courtnae Paul. The rest ofthe B-Girls will be revealed in due course. The competition is tough andthe breakers will need to impress the judges to earn their spot inPoland. B-Boy Benny, South Africa’s 2019 champion who represented the countryin Mumbai, India is excited for the upcoming 2020 competition. “It was great to meet the new generation of breakers from around the world inIndia last year. The scene has evolved and I’m incredibly excited tosee the new local B-Boys and B-Girls from South Africa compete in thisyear’s competition.” Says Benny. The Red Bull BC One weekend not only features the national final but athe full-day workshop which is free for all breaking enthusiasts to attendon Saturday, 21 March 2020 at The Quay at the V&A Waterfront in CapeTown. The Red Bull BC One All-Star team consisting of B-Boy Man Like B,B-Boy Benny, B-Boy Toufeeq, B-Boy Shorty Blitz and B-Boy Meaty will beat The Quay between 11:00 and 17:00 where they will be treating fans toa breakdance workshop and showcasing their skills. Breakers will also begiven the opportunity to make the Last Chance Qualifiers ahead of theNational Final, where six B-Boys and two B-Girls will be chosen tocompete at District the very next day for the chance to represent SouthAfrica in Poland in November 2020. This is a once in a lifetimeopportunity to learn from the best in the game and possibly showcaseskills on the world stage.
