Thenjiwe Mdluli crowned Mrs South Africa 2021

Thenjiwe Mdluli, 31 years old, from Edenvale, Johannesburg, walked away with the crown of Mrs South Africa 2021 at Emperors Palace.

The red carpet hybrid event was a spectacular event, comprising of a VIP Viewing experience at Emperors Palace and a live stream broadcast from Studio Iris that was streamed live on Timeslive, the Sunday Times website and the Mrs South Africa platforms.


Thenjiwe impressed the judging panel which was headed up by philanthropist and business woman, Matapa Maila, who held the title in 2019 along with other female entrepreneurs Olwethu Ndoda, Aldytha da Silva, and reigning queen Jacqueline Ferns.

Well known South African businessman, Vusi Zwane, joined the otherwise all-female panel as a guest judge on the night of the finale.  The judging process was overseen by independent auditors from BDO South Africa.

Thenji Mdluli is a strong business women who is passionate about Wellness and Nutrition. Her dream is to change the thinking around nutrition and eradicate the scourge of lifestyle disease that is prevalent in the low-income communities.

She believes in the unlimited power of women and hopes that women can see themselves in her story and be inspired to become the best versions of themselves.

Sumaiya Omar (38) from Cape Town was crowned the first princess and Zikhona Ngata (33) from East London was crowned second princess.

By winning the coveted title, Thenjiwe Mduli becomes an ambassador and spokesperson for South African women, for the organisation and its sponsors, and represent the country at Mrs World.
