Oratilwe Community Centre is an NGO based n the east rand aimed at eradicating poverty brought by unemployment, HIV and Aids and other contributing factors.

This past Monday the organization took it upon the challenge of bringing about festive smiles to the families of the unfortunate in the Mavag township, in Nigel.

It’s no secret that 2019 has been one of the toughest for many South Africans. 237 000 people lost their jobs in the first quarter of the year alone. Our official unemployment rate is now close to 30%. That means 6.73 million people with no source of income. Imagine not knowing where your next meal will come from! That’s the grim reality for so many men, women, and children this festive season. But if there’s one thing this tough year has taught us, it’s this – we South Africans will always go out of our way to help one another.” said Christelle (project manager of Oratile Org)

500 people living in Mavag receive aid from Oratile Org:1000 x 410 Beans5000 x 73g 2min Noodles500 Grape Fruit500 x 2litre Tomato Sauce2000 x 180g Toothpaste to name a few.

Today God’s blessings are upon us, thank you for remembering us this festive season, this really is Jesus’s season, we are grateful” are the words echoed by the people of Mavag, as they received food parcels from Oratilwe Community Centre.

This is what we are all about, and we are grateful to all our sponsors for making this initiative a success as we continue with the Christmas drive we’re counting on those who do have a little extra to spare to donate a food parcel for a less fortunate neighbor this is for everyone to go through this festive with ease most of all the satisfaction of knowing you’ve shown kindness to a fellow South African is the real reward. When you experience it, you understand that it really is nicer to give than to receive ” Added Lihle (Project assistant manager)
