Although it was all fiction, the Mzansi Magic drama is a reality inspired drama that deals with all the drama in the world of politics in South Africa.
Our political landscape is a very interesting one. Full of ups and downs, twists and turns, and so is The Republic riveting storyline. The story’s protagonist is President Mulaudzi, who became South Africa’s first democratically elected woman president, and her quest to fight corruption and fulfill the promises she has made to her people.
President Mulaudzi spent two years fighting corruption and holding to account those who benefited from former President Hendrick Mbuli’s presidency, including Mbuli himself. The drama is a thrilling political shutdown and a story of political smarts and survival.
The show’s star-studded cast includes seasoned actors such as Florence Masebe, Warren Masemola, Hlomla Dandala, Siyabonga Twala, Masasa Mbangeni and Seputla Sebogodi. The talented Thembinkosi Mthembu and Thuli Pongolo also star in this masterpiece.
Phatu Makwarele of Tshedza films, announced on Twitter that season two of The Republic is upon us. The renowned producer said we should brace ourselves for another season come 2022.
