“I always wanted to do something good – especially for the underprivileged…”
Samsad Matsenjwa is taking the world of pageantry by storm. She is a Beauty Queen with brains to match. Samsad is determined to make the world a better place one crown at a time.
The beauty queen is an over achiever of not. At just the tender age of 14 years Matsenjwa has an impressive CV – I bet some of her peers at Royal Kings High School in Roodepoort are green with envy. She has managed to find a balance between her academic pursuits and a thriving modelling career.
In an exclusive interview with SA POSITIVE NEWS Samsad Matsenjwa took us down memory lane to some of her fondest childhood memories.
“Growing up I’ve always been a very quiet child. I was shy and I was an introvert. I was raised by my mom and dad. I remember one night I cut my finger, that night my parents comforted me while I was in pain and that made me feel very loved and cared for.”
Samsad shared she believed that joining the world of pageantry would be a huge confidence booster – a smart way to also overcome her insecurities.
“Honestly speaking I joined pageantry because growing up I was very insecure about my weight, my skin, my body in general, but as soon as I joined pageantry it just all changed and I started loving myself”.
Samsad Matsenjwa’s hard work and determination, constantly honing her position in the world of pageantry paid off immensely when she was crowned Miss Teen Braamfischerville 2024. A crown she believed had her name on it from the very beginning.
“Honestly I felt like I deserved it since I put in a lot of effort, and I was determined to go back home with that crown which I did.”
Besides modelling, Samsad has a variety of interests. “I love reading and I really enjoy singing. I am very passionate about my modelling career but when I’m older I wish to start my journey of being a well-known doctor.”
Samsad Matsenjwa is undoubtedly a powerhouse of note – be on the lookout Zozibini Tunzi, she is “taking up space and cementing herself” in the world of Pageantry.

Matsenjwa is a Beauty Queen with a purpose. Her most recent notable charity drive is quite astounding, a blanket drive that founder and CEO of the Miss Braamfischerville Pageant Mrs Pertunia Malingisa initiated. Matsenjwa is adamant that Malingisa made the blanket drive a resounding success.
“When she told me that she is giving me this project, my heart was filled with joy because I always wanted to do something good – especially for the underprivileged”, said Matsenjwa.
The auspicious blanket drive was sponsored by Sesli Blankets Textiles Pty Ltd and donated 40 blankets at Dora’s Ark Children’s Home.
Samsad Matsenjwa shares with SA POSITIVE NEWS that she chose Dora’s Ark because she always had the burning desire do her charity work there as she noticed that they had a shortage of blankets for the children residing at the home. When the opportunity presented itself Samsad didn’t look back – she donated blankets to the home.
Samsad is showing no signs of slowing down. Even with all the astounding success achieved thus far, the modelling maestro is grabbing the bull by the horns and striking while the iron is hot.

Her words of encouragement to wrap up the interview with SA POSITIVE NEWS? Simply remarkable:
“Trust in the Lord and the rest will happen, confidence is the key to all the success you want to achieve in life. Don’t be ashamed of the gift that God gave you but instead be thankful by showing some confidence and positivity in yourself.
Remember waking up is a blessing alone meaning you are blessed so stay alive and positive.”
The dynamite is truly a force to be reckoned with, a visionary and a heart full of determination.
