Songstress Makhadzi, real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona recently just won her second international award. She is taking up space and cementing her star power and star quality right before our eyes and we are definitely here for it.

From filling up stadiums in Botswana to her songs being national anthems in the entire continent – Makhadzi is a success story, proving one more time that patience is indeed a virtue. Manifesting the notion, when it’s your time to shine, nobody can stop you. From humble beginnings to penetrating world stages. We are so proud of our Venda Queen.

The singer and song writer was named Favourite African Star at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Wednesday, 13 April, beating the likes of Focalistic, Major League DJz and Al Ahly coach, Pitso Mosimane.

Makhadzi (25) was speechless when she heard the news, talking to Daily Sun to celebrate this gigantic milestone in her career.

“Winning this award means a lot to me because it’s also a stamp of approval to show that my career is heading in the right direction”.

“I am speechless; I can’t explain how I am feeling, but it’s a feeling of excitement.

“To be honest, I was even happier when I was nominated because having that honour is a big deal on its own. Winning is a dream come true,” she said.

Well done Makhadzi for flying the South African flag so high one more time. Mzansi is proud!!!!
