Dineo Ranaka is set to leave Metro FM after nine years of being with the station.

Ranaka has successfully kept listeners entertained hosting The Bridge alongside Lerato Kganyago weekdays between 10am and midday. However, her stay at Metro FM has not been smooth sailing at all, as we witnessed how she got suspended for doing the Umlando challenge at the workspace, to resuming work after a few days off.

In an official statement, the mom of three stated that her last show on air will be on Friday, 17th, June 2022.

The star is grateful to the entire The Bridge team and SABC for the opportunity given to her over the years.

In an interview with Drum Magazine, she said: “My time at Metro FM has been nothing short of amazing and adventurous. I have enjoyed both my relationship with management, colleagues, listeners, as well as advertisers. It has truly been beautiful.”

“An opportunity to expand myself has been presented to me and it was one I couldn’t resist.” said Dineo.

The seasoned media personality is heading to Kaya 959. Her fans and tweeps speculate she’s replaced Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlope on Kaya 959, who were reportedly fired this week.

Dineo Ranaka will be joined by Sol Phenduka on Kaya959 on a show yet to be revealed.

Sol Phendula

“Kaya959 is proud to welcome Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka to the station’s growing family. The move is in line with the continuous repositioning the station has embarked on since 2021”, the station said in a statement.

“Dineo is widely acknowledged for her mastery of the craft of radio. “Her radio savvy, dynamic personality and life experience coupled with Sol’s sharp wit and broad knowledge are just the combination Kaya959 needs to make a mark with the Code-Switcher who is on a journey to advance themselves,” says Kaya959 MD Sibongile Mtyali.

“In line with business and listener needs we will be announcing further Kaya 959 line-up additions on the 1st of July 2022”, concluded Mtyali.

Congratulations are in order!!!
