“The nomination really means a lot to me, I wasn’t expecting it. I was so surprised that I got nominated. I’ve had such a long journey on Reality TV, a lot of it being quite torturous. I was caught up against a lot of the other ladies on Real Housewives of Johannesburg. I was insulted and bullied. I had a journey that was really a rollercoaster ride. I went through so much – on-screen and off-screen. It was fulfilling in many ways, but it was also torturous so to be honoured and to be given the credit for being one of the best TV personalities makes the journey – sometimes painful, worthwhile. I’m very proud to be up there with all the wonderful nominees.”
With over 1.7 million public submissions received this year, the NFTA continues its mission to elevate and showcase South African talent on a global stage, connecting the local industry to international audiences.
As the driving force behind prestigious awards such as the National Film Awards UK, National Film and TV Awards USA, and National Reality Television Awards, the Academy expanded into South Africa last year, introducing the flagship National Film and TV Awards.
