Sihle Sithole popularly known as Blxckie reacts to being nominated for the BET Hip Hop awards
The talented rapper has been nominated in the prestigious Best International Flow category. He will be vying for the nod alongside other international acts from Ghana, Canada, the UK, France, Brazil, and Zimbabwe.
It’s safe to say that Blxckie owned 2022. This year is particularly a special year for the young lad. In the 9 months since he decided to devote himself to his music, the 21-year-old has managed to consistently ship out hit after hit along with SA’s finest, while staying in tune with a cult-like fan base that has driven the rapid growth of both his music and his credibility.
It’s impressive to witness a hip-hop head shining so brightly while the #Amapianototheworld phenomenon is taking the world by storm – dominating the South African airwaves and dance floors.
After his breakout hit in the year 2020, Blxckie was ushered in with the release of “Big Time Shlappa”, a trap-fuelled, lyric heavy bop that flung him into the spotlight in a matter of days. He quickly followed that up with “Uppity”, which has proven to be just as popular.
Sihle Sithole has been on a winning streak, bagging features with stars such as DJ Maphorisa and winning the Freshman of the Year at this year’s South African Hip-Hop Awards. His story is a true testament that when it is your time, it is your time.
Blxckie has obtained several number 1 singles, it seems every time he drops, his music goes straight to the top. He is certainly hot property and all his hard work and effort is definitely paying off.
The rapper took to Twitter and shared a video of the BET nomination expressing disbelief at being nominated at one of the biggest music stages in the world.
Hosted by Fat Joe, the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards will tape on September 30 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta and will air on October 4 at 9 p.m. on BET.
Kudos to you Blxckie. Bring it home!
Congratulations to all the nominees!
