“We are not doing this for fame, but we took this journey as a long walk to recovery and a spiritual journey as well…”

Dingaan Khanye Dlamini, Potsane Mohale and Tumelo Ntsala known as the Blah Blah Brothers started their journey to walk from Vaal to Lesotho on 12 May to raise funds for at least 10 drug addicts in the Vaal in order for them to go to rehab.

“We are not doing this for fame, but we took this journey as a long walk to recovery and a spiritual journey as well. We believe there will be challenges along the way as it is our first time embarking on this kind of journey.”

Blah Blah Brothers chose Lesotho as their destination because they are inspired by how the country has managed to keep drugs from entering its territory and they also wish to learn from them on how to protect future generations. Their aim is to raise at least R75 000 to R85 000.

A  Lesotho Organization called “Mokhosi ao Mangoana” which means, the plight of a mother has reached out and showed support to Blah Blah Brothers by promising to welcome them at Maseru Border Gate.

“We are an organization of over 150 mothers whose children have substance use disorder. We are a big and distinct organization known to be drastically fighting the scourge of drugs in Lesotho and we will be welcoming Blah Blah brothers at Maseru border gate. We are touched and will certainly be supporting you in this great endeavor”, read a statement from the Lesotho group.

Blah Blah Brothers received their first donations in Sasolburg from Clive Mashishi Foundation, who donated refreshments and R1000, then Sello and friends donated refreshments.

They made their second stop at Petrus Steyn where they were warmly welcomed by Clive Mashishi, Angel Network, Kasi to kasi and MPM Radio and were provided with accommodation. At 4am Blah Blah Brothers were escorted by Police Officers as they were leaving Petrus Steyn to Rietz.

When they arrived at Rietz, Pep store showed them love by gifting them with hats and socks to keep them warm and refreshments. KatliTebo Deco and Thati Fume catering also provided them with lunch. They also met with their spiritual father Apostle Thando Mponeng from Judah House Tabernacle church who drove all the way from Vaal to Rietz to show them support and motivate them.

After a 54 km walk from Rietz to Bethlehem Blah Blah Brothers prepared themselves to sleep on the streets but luckily Vicky from manufacturing and services who is their supporter on TikTok donated R2000 for accommodation and food. Blah Blah Brothers spent the night at Park Hotel in Bethlehem.

“We are so much grateful because we managed to take warm baths and rest to relax our muscles.”

On 16 May Blah Blah Brothers paused their journey due to injuries and decided to proceed with their journey the following day.

Jackie Van Waveren from Alco Beton has pledged to donate R1000 to Blah Blah Brothers once they reach Lesotho in their inspiring journey.

The brothers’ latest donation has come from the African National Congress in Sedibeng, after an inspiring call from it’s Regional Secretary, Jason Mkhwane and they have donated R10 000.

“We would like to express our appreciation to Mr Jason Mkhwane, Regional Secretary of ANC Sedibeng Region, for his inspiring call. His words of motivation and support are highly valued. We are committed to continuing our advocacy for South African youth, spanning Vaal and the entire country. Moreover, we are grateful for ANC Sedibeng Region’s donation of R10 000.
