Black Coffee has been nominated for a Grammy award. The South African DJ got a nod in the category Best Dance/Electronic Album for his album Subconsciously.
Black Coffee, real name Nathi Maphumulo first rose to fame as part of local house group, Shana.
Born in Durban and relocated to Mthatha, Black Coffee established his own record label Soulistic Music, released debut self-titled album Black Coffee (2005), which incorporated elements of Rnb and Jazz.
Black Coffee goes up against Illenium, Major Lazer, Marshmello, Sylvan Esso and Ten City for the trophy.
