Cure Day Hospitals Donates School Shoes to Zandspruit Primary School in Honour of Mandela Month

Zandspruit Primary School learners receive school shoes from Cure Day Hospitals

As South Africa marks July as Mandela Month, Cure Day Hospitals (CDH) on Friday (25 July 2025), donated 150 school shoes to learners in need at Zandspruit Primary School, in Honeydew, Johannesburg. Cure Day Hospitals participates yearly in various community initiatives for Mandela Day.

“At Cure Day Hospitals, we believe that every child deserves to grow up in an environment filled with love, care, and hope for a brighter future. That is why Team Compassion from CDH in partnership with Kingdom Helpers of Africa -KHOA took a stand and extended their support to Zandspruit Primary School through this heartfelt donation”, said Mmamoko Lamola, an Executive Member at Cure Day Hospitals.

The initiative is more than just a donation; it is a promise to stand by the most vulnerable members of the community and remind them that they are not alone. By providing essential resources and sincere support, CDH aims to bring comfort, joy, and a renewed sense of possibility to each child.

Receiving the shoes, Zandspruit Primary School Principal, Joshua Mamabolo, expressed heartfelt gratitude: “Thank you Cure Day Hospitals for affording us these gifts in honour of Nelson Mandela. We have been chosen to receive these shoes to ensure that our learners have dignity and able to come to school without interruption due to lack of adequate school supplies”.

The learners received the shoes with excitement, breaking out in song as they celebrated. “Children are the heart of our future, and when we invest in their happiness and well-being today, we help shape a stronger, kinder, and more compassionate tomorrow. Through this act of giving, Team Compassion from CDH reaffirms Cure Day’s commitment to not only caring for patients within our hospitals but also uplifting and empowering communities beyond our walls”, said Lamola.

Cure Day Hospitals is encouraging everyone to join them in creating a world where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired to dream big. “Together, we can make a lasting difference to one act of kindness at a time”, Lamola concluded.
