Gauteng and the Free State have recorded a 60-percent recovery rate in coronavirus infections.
The provinces have attributed this to intensified contact tracing and mass testing. Health MEC’s across the country briefed Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize on the measures provinces will take as the country moves to Level 4 on Friday.
A total of 93 people have died in the country while the number of cases has increased by 203 to 4996.
Gauteng Health MEC, Bandile Masuku says the province has been doing quite great in terms of recoveries.
“A large number of people that have been active cases since our first case on the 5th of March have actually recovered. Currently, as we’re speaking out of the figures that we have from last night of 183 infections, we’ve got 197 recoveries”.
