Standard Bank Group has appointed Ethel Nyembe as the new Group Head of Card and Payments.
The appointment comes as the bank accelerates the execution of its strategy to become an ecosystem-based platform business.

Card and Payments are at the forefront of our digital evolution, as we continue to create convenience, simplicity and access for our clients and partners” says Margaret Nienaber, Chief Executive Officer of Client Solutions at Standard Bank Group.
Nyembe has served in several executive roles within the banking group, among them as Head of Small Enterprise and Head of Business and Commercial Transactional Products. She and her team have formed key partnerships that give customers product choice, value added benefits and payment options when they shop, travel, pay bills, remit to loved ones and live. These include a partnership with PEP Stores which allows Standard Bank clients to send and receive Instant Money conveniently at more than 2000 PEP Stores country-wide and other Instant Money partnerships are with SPAR, the Shoprite Group, the MassMart Group, Pick n Pay, Boxer and OTT Collect.
Standard Bank also recently secured a new partnership with Booking.com. This will see clients enjoying a 5% cash back from Booking.com when they book using their Standard Bank cheque or credit card and will give them access to great deals on hotels and accommodation thanks to the more than millions of options across the world available on the platform.
