Thuli P joins a new music show as a judge. Without a shadow of doubt Amapiano is a movement, taking over the world at large by storm and it’s beautiful to witness.
The genre is proudly South African and a number of our stars have performed it on international stages. While on her visit here in South Africa, American singer Kelly Rowland danced to Amapiano at Bontle Modiselle dance studios. Proving once more that the genre is loved locally and abroad.
It’s trending worldwide on TikTok. The videos on the social media platform are simply out of this world. What a time to be South African, black and gifted.
Amapiano (isiZulu for “the pianos”) is a style of house music that emerged in South Africa in 2012. It is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths, airy pads and wide percussive basslines.
