Apart from the fact that the world has been faced with the coronavirus pandemic for the past two years, the African continent is still blessed with young people who strive to bring change in the state of the economy.

Siyabonga Mthembu is a South African born author, entrepreneur radio presenter, a public and a professional speaker who grew up in the dusty streets of Tembisa. The 33-year old is a first born child of Azelia and Albino Mthembu who raised him with the mentality that every man must sweat in order to survive. His parents raised him from selling at their family supermarket and that is where his innovative business mind was born.

Mthembu first implemented his first business at the age of 16 and he has been grinding since then. He refers to himself as a pathfinder. “I am a pathfinder; I believe that each generation has its own pathfinders, ground breakers, leaders and teachers.

In the year 2017-2018 Mthembu implemented a network marketing business which managed to make R1.2 million. He is currently running a club called the Developing SA; he is also a co-owner of a bakery and beverage company. The young entrepreneur also wrote a book that promotes entrepreneurship and formalises the informal business sector.

He believes that many businesses fail due to lack of knowledge and skills on how to run a business and make sales. Mthembu’s classes and workshops have been helping many young South African developing entrepreneurs.

“I am an active South African citizen, I stand tall and strive to combat human and environmental challenges” he says. His book will be launching soon and aims to change the lives of many South Africans even the world at large.

The African continent has a brighter future with ambitious and goal driven young people.
