Nominees for South African Heroes Awards 2021 have been announced. The awards which are in their 3rd year were launched in 2019 with the aim to celebrate unsung heroes.
“These awards recognise the work done by community heroes in bettering their people. It’s a token of appreciation for people who are doing amazing things and an expression that says we see you, we appreciate your work”, said awards founder, Amanda Matshaka.
In February the SA Heroes Awards (SAHAs) unveiled its first ever Ambassador, a youth activist and SAHAs 2020 finalist, Zoleka Monta.
A new category has been added this year, the Rural Development category, which saw a number of submissions for nominations. Other categories are Community Service, Women Empowerment, Youth Empowerment, Specialised Care, Community Health and Business Empowerment.
To vote simply sms the NAME & SURNAME of your community hero or the NAME of the business or foundation *to 35959 (R3/sms) each “sms is charged at R3/sms” and “Free sms bundles do not apply”
