Michelle Mvundla popularly known as Mpho Wa Badimo is a South African Sangoma, YouTuber, and a certified advocate of idlozi
She was born in Daveyton, Soweto on August 8, 1994. Mvundla was introduced to us as housemate on the big brother reality television show. Mphowabadimo eventually won the competition – becoming the first ever female to be crowned the winner
The big brother contestants are a group of ordinary individuals, chosen from thousands of hopefuls, live together in a specially constructed house, isolated from the outside world, watched 24/7 by viewing audiences across the country.
Mphowabadimo is very vocal about the fact that it was not easy to be in such a setting. “It was never easy to gel and connect with strangers from the word go, you know we are different personalities and clashes are bound to happen but I’m really glad that through it all we all got along like a house on fire”, she says.
When asked about some of her highlights in the entire experience, “My highlight was actually making it into the house. Being part of the top 10, top 5 and winning. For a week I didn’t win anything. Not even the head of house but bouncing back from nominations and proving myself was my ultimate highlight and the parties of course,” Mphowabadimo says.
Some of her lows were definitely the evictions. “When Nthabi left I really felt it because we became the best of friends in the house. Missing my family, in week 6 I felt like I was losing myself. It was hectic. Nothing made sense at all but like a Queen that I am, I managed to bounce back”.
Housemates’ names were also on top of Twitter trends for the whole 13 weeks. Mvundla, who became the only female in the top five, defeated Gash1 to win the cash price of R2 million and the winner of this 2022 season.
Most viewers resonated a lot with Mvundla for her representation of a society of spiritual healers, a part she decided to shine a spotlight on during her Big Brother journey.
“If there is another season, come through. This is such an amazing experience, a once in a lifetime opportunity. Take that chance. Be real because big brother can see through you when you are fake”, she concluded.
Congratulations to the Queen. Thokoza Gogo!!!
