Olympic champions Beatrice Chebet, Faith Kipyegon, Emmanuel Wanyonyi from Kenya and Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo, are nominated for the glamorous World athletics gala to be staged in December in Monaco.

The voting rights are open for all through the world Athletics social media platforms until October 27th.

The four had a great season dominating their specialities at the Olympics in Paris earlier in the year.

Beatrice Chebet was adorned with two gold medals after winning 5000m and 10000m, besides breaking the record in the longer distance. Faith Kipyegon, last year’s crown bearer alongside American Noah Lyles will be hoping to retain the accolades in the women’s category, after making history by winning 1500m Olympic gold for the third consecutive time in Paris.  She also broke her own record in the race this year, besides claiming oympic silver in the 5000m race at the summer games.

Emmanuel Wanyonyi helped Kenya retain the men’s 800m title in Paris, besides claiming the Diamond league honor. He will be hoping to outwit several other contenders including the likes of Lyles who won the 100m race in Paris and the king of the double the distance and fellow African Tebogo in the men’s category.
