The African champions, Banyana Banyana landed at the OR Tambo International Airport this morning (Tuesday).
They’ve been welcomed by hundreds of South Africans dancing and celebrating their victory.
Several dignitaries, including members of the sports ministry, South African Football Association (SAFA) and Sasol have also gathered at the airport to celebrate the team.
Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Sports, Arts and Culture Minister, Nathi Mthethwa, has emphasized the importance of equal pay for male and female soccer stars.
The country’s senior women’s national team won the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nation.
